Battlefield Health and Trauma (BHT) Research Center

BMB provided civil engineering services for site development and utilities relocation for the new medical facility at Fort Sam Houston. The 150,000 s.f. research center will combine medical research teams from the Army, Navy, and the Air Force. The laboratory and research facility is one of four major components under the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC), Medical Construction Program. Built adjacent to the US Army Institute for Surgical Research on the Brooke Army Medical Center Campus, both facilities will make up the BHT. BMB provided site civil plans, and specifications to include plans for grading, site demo plan, paving, parking, curbs, and sidewalks, storm sewer plans and profiles, SW3P plan, hydraulic and hydrologic calculations, utility plans for water and sanitary sewer, & construction services.
