Because the Enhancement project sites are adjacent to the river, low impact development has been a priority of the design effort. The implementation of bioswales, drainage filter strips, pervious pavements, low water consuming plant material, and where possible the use of recycled water for irritation have been included in the project.

A majority of the Enhancement projects have required coordination between multiple Public Entity Clients. BMB worked on these multiple entities, through their design efforts, to forge bonds and advance projects that are in the best interest of the citizens of San Antonio.

Projects have included Mission County Park, Hot Wells, Padre Park Street Connection, City Park Street Connection, San Juan Diversion Dam Park, Espada Dam Park, San Juan Acequia Trail, Mission San Juan Portal, and Theo Avenue Street Realignment. Survey services of existing features for planned Mission Reach improvements to street connections and park linkages, including topographic surveys, boundary surveys, right-of-way determination, tree surveys, and utilities locates at various street connections. Also, performed topographic, boundary and tree location surveys. Civil design services for planned Mission Reach improvements at various street linkage trailheads along the river in support of hike and bike trail improvements. Services at the Mission Road, Roosevelt Ave. and VFW Blvd street connections have included site grading plans, traffic control plan, and drainage study reports to determine hydrology for the site based on existing and developed conditions, bid and construction administration services.

John W. Strybos, P.E., C.E.M. – Alamo Colleges

It is my pleasure to provide this letter of reference to Bain Medina Bain for the work they preformed on Villaret Road ( Highway 16 to Jennifer). Originally a 3,500 foot, two-lane roadway, Bain Medina Bain helped to realize the vision of Alamo Colleges and the City to improve drainage, widen to four lanes and include a turning lane, bike lanes and sidewalks. Their proficiency, professionalism and responsiveness keep them at the top of our preferred consultants.
